Like many custodial establishments, HMYOI Aylesbury came to Pineapple Contracts looking for help with transforming their visits hall.
Working together, Pineapple listened to the behavioural issues faced by staff: it was an emotionally charged atmosphere which often resulted in fights and violent outbreaks. Tables and chairs were being used as weapons, regularly being thrown at others in the room. Staff were required to restrain individuals, causing upset to visiting friends and families.
Pineapple were confident their Ryno range could help...
Ryno tables and chairs are made from a single piece of rotationally moulded plastic, making them impossible to dismantle & weaponise. They are weighted to 50kg to prevent throwing, & feature secure seat pads which provide comfort without creating a concealment risk. Over 100 chairs & 25 coffee tables were used to transform the space & improve safety.
The result - a bright spectrum of colours throughout the room - creates a positive and uplifting environment. Removing the institutionalised feel of the space makes it inviting for visitors, helping to encourage regular visits and improve family stability, & the initial aim of creating a safe space which reduces violence has been achieved in style.
